VEGAS

Just got back from Vegas. I'm usually not a big fan... but this was a good trip. I got a chance to hang with one of most knowledgeable music guys I know (and superstar fashion designer) John Varvatos. His knowledge of the Punk/Glam 70's Detroit music scene is matched by none.

I also had a chance to listen to some of the greatest rock n roll stories ever from another Detroit native, Alice Cooper. What a nice guy... and what a history. This is a guy who was originally signed by Frank Zappa... and used to hang out with John Lennon... Jim Morrison... Bob Ezrin... Harry Nilsson... of course he has amazing stories! ...but he also puts on one of the greatest rock shows you'll ever see.

I snapped a few photos for you. If you click on them you can see a bit more detail...

Maybe I'm not suddenly in love with Vegas. Maybe it's not where you are. Maybe it's who you're with.

GOOD NIGHT

It was a good night... for me. I was thinking about going to some fancy clubs and partying with George Clooney and some Brazilian models... but instead I did the following:

1- Got a haircut on Melrose.
My hair. Source of amusement for my employees.

2- Ate an amazing burrito from the LA Fuxion burrito truck on La Brea.

3- Saw a friend's band practice on Formosa.
Jason Ellis and Benji Madden / "Taintstick"
4- Saw a movie on Sunset.
It may be simple. It may sound boring... but a good night for me is one where I don't have to do anything. It was a good night... for me.

Bright Lights of Hollywood
Good night.

I Can See Clearly Now...

The rain is gone. It's nice after in rains in L.A. For a few days afterward you can see the mountains in the distance during the day... and a few stars at night. This is the collection of satellite dishes in back of my studios in Hollywood.

GIANT ROBOT ATTACKS L.A.

Last night in my sleep a giant robot the size of the Chrysler building was destroying Los Angeles. When I woke up this morning, it was nothing but a wonderful dream.

I was going to take you on a walking tour of Hollywood tonight. Unfortunately... By the time I made it out of the back parking lot and onto Formosa Avenue... it was pouring down*.

(*By "pouring down" I mean "sprinkling". It's an L.A. thing.)

FORMOSA AVE
At least I managed to snap a photo of Kermit... mainly for my friend Michael who has a creepy obsession with this frog. I thought it might make good wallpaper for his Mac.

KERMIT
Further up, on Hollywood Blvd, it's the Roosevelt Hotel. I went here after a big Hollywood movie premeire once and watched a bunch of trendy people stand around a pool eating Saltines garnished with yard trimmings. Being around fancy people gives me a weird feeling. I hate them to the core, and I wish I was them.

ROOSEVELT HOTEL
I couldn't give you the city in pieces tonight... so here's a big chunk of it. Maybe I'll try the walking tour again during the next break in the clouds. Once this typhoon blows out of here.. it shouldn't rain again until 2014.

More... about ME.

I fell asleep at my desk last night. I woke up at 5am with my face slammed against my keyboard. Here's an article from Outside Magazine that explains why I'm exhausted... constantly...

New Camera = New Blog

This is it. My blog. One guy's travels through the entertainment industry by day... and the mean streets of Hollywood by night.

My name is Will.

Special thanks to super-producer Michael Patterson (Beck/Diddy/Notorious BIG) and live sound expert David Klein (Tom Morello/Limp Bizkit) for the encouragement... and photographer/cameraman/director Rick Kosick (Jackass/Nitro Circus/Rob & Big) for the camera!
